Product Specialist
For a manufacturer of specialty electronics assembly materials (Indium Corporation of America - Clinton, NY): responsible for researching and analyzing customer and market data; facilitate customer and prospective customer business and ensure requirements of both customer and Indium Corporation are met; serve as a product line resource to internal departments including sales, operations, R and D and other marketing groups on matters requiring support; maintain product stewardship responsibilities for products specified (price sheets, lead times, technical data sheets, SDS sheets, product rationalization, etc.); benchmark Indium’s technical data sheets to leading competitors and implement best practice and high value content to Indium’s literature; collect and compile global and regional market related data (market size, growth rates, major customers, pricing, technical trends, market share, competitor analysis – by application segment) for use in strategic plan and day-to-day decision-making; develop proficiency in Indium products, markets and overall technology; provide product and process training within Indium, to customers, and to industry conferences; use Indium Corporation’s SimLab and equipment at equipment partner sites, execute process optimization, product characterization and benchmark testing of Indium’s soldering materials to meet/exceed defined performance requirements; support the launch of new products with technical data sheets, presentations, sales tools, training tools, and launch packages; work with product manager to analyze pricing guidelines and recommend regional adjustments; be a resource to sales by highlighting market opportunities, breaking down barriers, creating regionally specific sales tools, and communicating to product management needs such as new products, new sales tools, etc.; support technical personnel in composing and publishing articles; support Marcom programs such as trade show selection and media relationships as requested; support R and D through beta site development and monitoring; and perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
Requirements
1. Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in a technical field (Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, etc.), or a related field.
2. 1 year of experience in the job offered or 1 year of experience in data analysis in a technical field. Experience can be gained while pursuing degree.
3. Knowledge of electrochemistry, statistical mechanics, metal and crystal deposition, material characterization tools, analysis tools, remote automation of scientific instruments using Python.
4. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), LaTeX and Python programming.
Work Location: Clinton, NY.
Hours: 40 per week – Monday through Friday.
Salary: $70,000

JOB SUMMARY: The Sr. Quality Engineer is responsible for leading initiatives to understand processes and to implement appropriate process controls ensuring that the quality of all Indium Corporation’s products meet customer requirements while supporting the growth, visions and values of Indium Corporation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (COMPETENCIES):
- Organize and coordinate Quality Engineering activities with other functions to support quality objectives and QMS processes according to documented procedures
- Partner with technical support engineers, manufacturing engineers and operations staff to meet quality objectives
- Reduce process variation with DOE and data analysis methods, implementing data driven corrective actions
- Prepare and install process FMEA’s and control plans, incorporating the appropriate analysis and use of data based on findings from designed experiments • Prepare corrective actions using customer specified or 8D methodologies
- Document procedures per ISO9001, IATF16949, AS9100 and/or other relevant quality standards
- Support business plans goals and objectives; support manufacturing engineering and R&D with design and implementation of new products and /or technologies following an APQP process
- Coordinate the development and preparation of PPAP per customer requirements and industry standards
- Support company facilities with quality testing, planning processes and product validations
- Study, recommend and modify manufacturing processes with the objective of reducing operating expenses and improve yields
- Operate computer programs and statistical software to analyze data, report results, and draw data-driven conclusions
- Investigate, identify, recommend, install and maintain quality test equipment
- Identify, monitor and maintain quality metrics • Coordinate activities with other quality department staff
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver timely results
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a science-based technical discipline
- 5 years work experience in a quality or process engineering position • In-depth knowledge of SPC, PPAP, FMEA, and Six Sigma methodologies; ASQ Quality Engineer or Advanced Six Sigma Certification and Lean Manufacturing experience, preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office and software for DOE, SPC and data analysis
- Advanced math skills
- Proven ability to develop and implement testing methods with an emphasis on documenting detailed procedures
- Experienced in supporting internal and external customers regarding requests for technical assistance, quality inquiries and product testing
- Demonstrated ability to complete a wide variety of assignments in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated success at achieving objectives through participation in, or leadership of, functional or cross-functional work teams
- Detail oriented and highly organized
- Excellent oral and written communication skills

The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the range for the position. The actual range will vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications, and internal equity.
